St. James' Weekly - November 4, 2007

Saint James’ Weekly
November 4, 2007

Dear Friends:

Prayer is one of the best gifts we receive. I received this prayer from a friend last week (Sandy Haberstich), and now I pass it on to you. Know that you are loved:

"May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let His presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love. It is there for each and every one of us."

###
There was mysterious 90-year-old Pink Panther roaming the halls of Saint James’ last Wednesday evening (Halloween eve). Actually, Cecelia C., Jane Swartley, and Sandy H. passed out 40 bags of candy with a marketing flier to eager trick-or treaters.
###
In just 5 weeks the 5:55 @ Saint James’ Saturday service begins – December 8th! This is so awesome, so exciting, SO stressful, and a huge step for our Parish. There is nothing that God can’t do. We will remain faithful and bold and positive, and He will provide. Give all of our fears, worries, anxieties, hopes, and dreams to God. Pray for the people who will be attending and for the workers who are planning. Advent is a perfect time to anticipate Jesus Christ coming into the world to save us, and a perfect time for new beginnings for us and for future members of our Church.
###
The cheese ball factory is finished with production! Thanks to everyone who worked so hard every week.
###
The painting of the lower hall, kitchen, and men’s room is finished. New ceiling tiles were also installed in the men’s room. These were much needed projects for our Parish, and will also be a welcome addition to Jimmy’s Place and 5:55 @ Saint James’.
###
Craft Closet items are still needed for kids ages 3 – 8 Sunday Schools for our Saturday night and Sunday mornings. So far, only one person has brought in a box of ribbon. Could you please dig in your closets and see what you can find?
###
Lastly, Jimmy’s Place will not meet again until December 8th. This move is to give a block of time to institute an aggressive marketing plan that the Jimmy’s Place Board of Advisors came up with a few weeks ago. We have had very good attendance at the SHOWS (100 last week!), but have not had a good core of regulars at the regular Jimmy’s Place evenings. Please bear with me on this, and please keep praying. We are NOT closing, just re-grouping and giving me time to institute this new plan. I am still convinced that God provided an avenue to start this ministry, and He will provide an avenue to continue it as well.
###

Peace,

Dave (Director of Parish Services & Jimmy’s Place)
